As it stands this summer in the Lake District is on track to be more in keeping with regular Cumbrian life. As for many of us, a summer holiday has started to feel like a distant memory. In particular when it comes to getting away overseas.
However, with our spa suites and hot tubs in Windermere, you’ll soon be wondering why it’s taken this long to consider a UK staycation.
What’s on this Summer in the Lake District?
Although this summer in the Lake District may still be a little different, many of the big events are to make a welcome return.
At time of writing, the following are either confirmed or likely to have an announcement in the very near future:
- Keswick Ghost Walks (April to June)
- The Lakesman Triathlon (20th June)
- Great British Food Festival (3rd and 4th July)
- Kendal Calling 2021 (29th July to 1st August)
- Keswick and Cartmel Agricultural Shows (TBC)
Keswick Ghost Walks
These regular events are already underway and continue to run until the end of June. During which there’s some spooky fun to be had – and all within Covid-19 guidelines. Whereby guests can be expected to hear all the myths and legends surrounding the local area.
The Lakesman Triathlon
It’s been well-documented that hot tubs and spa breaks come with a number of wider health benefits. As such, what better way to recover from a gruelling cross-country event than within the comfort of a hot tub spa suite? In fact, if you haven’t done already, there’s still time to register for this popular 3-staged race.
Great British Food Festival
With plenty of local pubs and restaurants now re-opened, this summer is also a chance for the food festivals to get involved. This time around the Great British Food Festival takes place at Lowther Castle, near Penrith.
Kendal Calling 2021
It may well be sold out already, but if you’ve been lucky enough to get tickets why not extend your holiday in much more luxurious surroundings? Having spent the weekend partying to live music in a muddy field, unwind at the hands of the Aphrodites Group. Check-in to our private hot tub spa suites for a mid-week break before heading back home.
Agricultural Shows
One of the biggest disappointments among the locals last year, was the cancellation of many traditional events. As such, this summer in the Lake District it’s hoped that both Keswick and Cartmel Agricultural shows will be back on. With tentative dates pencilled in for August.
