As well as an excuse to treat a loved one to a spa break in Windermere, February 2022 also has plenty on offer within the Lake District. It may be a little colder than later in the year, but there’s something special about the unpredictable winter weather.
Is there likely to be a last-minute flurry of snow upon the mountains? Well, we can’t guarantee such a landscape, but we know for certain it’s a backdrop of natural beauty regardless. Even when there’s a downpour, the rainbows across Lake Windermere are somewhat magical.
Things to do in February 2022 in Windermere
While not everything is about Windermere, the Lake District in February is a welcomed retreat. One in which you can have an extravagant night out but without the crowds or wrap up warm as you embark on a midnight adventure.
Valentine’s Day in Windermere
Surprise your loved one with a spa break on the most romantic day of the year. 14th February 2022 is booking up fast, but that’s not to say there won’t be any last-minute availability. Alternatively, you can always purchase for later in the year or present a friend or family member with gift vouchers towards their next visit.
Live Entertainment in Bowness
There’s a lot of live music in and around Windermere. Especially with the likes of regular jazz at Zeffirellis or the return of Baha Bowness. The latter showcasing the likes of Marc Atkinson, Cory Spedding and the Coulton Brothers, as well as Friday nights with DJ Ciufu.
Full Moon Swim
As for something less lively, but equally exhilarating, official late-night swimming is soon on the horizon in Lake Windermere. Rather than just stripping off and diving in, the Full Moon Swim host a number of events throughout the month. Complete with an experienced guide and late-night treats around the campfire.
An evening at the theatre
Whether it’s a date night at the cinema or snuggling up outdoors, the Lake District has a selection of theatres available. Including the likes of the Laundry Theatre in Windermere, the nearby Keswick Alhambra Cinema or the aforementioned Zeffirellis. Although for something particularly memorable, Theatre by the Lakes is set on the shores of Derwentwater.
Moonlit Walks and Canoeing
Officially a string of events, the Dark Skies Festival provides a range of outdoor activities during February. As such, it’s not just your hot tub where you can gaze upon the stars! Here you’ll be able to go canoeing by moonlight or enjoy cross-country walks as your host navigates your way across the fells.
All this and more are available throughout next month, not to mention the usual attractions, pubs and restaurants. Follow the Aphrodites Group on social media for further information about our individual spa suites and hot tubs.
