Bowness Bay Blues Weekend

The Bowness Bay Blues Weekend in Windermere

As always, the Bowness Bay Blues Weekend has yet another impressive line-up install for April 2019. If you’re a fan of the blues or just want to experience a fantastic weekend in Cumbria, then book yourself a package break in Windermere.

Headlining the Friday night is the Bill Walton Band, Saturday Connie Lush and Sunday L J Darley. Although just like other festivals, the stars of the show aren’t always those on later in the evening so it’s worth setting off early.

Live music starts from around midday on Saturday and Sunday, with Friday slightly later at 3 pm. The majority of the festival is indoors and spread across several stages. If you’re worried about having to walk between stages though, everything is within easy reach of your spa hotel in Windermere.

Aphrodite’s Lodge Festival Favourites

As for the acts themselves, they are all worthy of getting out of your hot tub for. So while you may be visiting Cumbria for a relaxing weekend, you won’t want to miss a thing. If you’re not sure what to see, one of our top tips includes Catfish on Sunday at 2 pm.

Elsewhere there’s also a chance to take to the water, with Windermere Lake Cruises. Included within the weekend ticket price is the “Blues Cruise”. This year featuring the incredible Sean Webster and his band.

There’s a great variety on offer throughout the weekend. So if you want to get away from the more traditional blues music, why not check out New Orleans style pianist Dale Starr or Thin Lizzy tribute band Five and Dangerous.
